Privacy Policy
This policy explains how MamePress ("the Service") handles information.
1. Your images (the part that matters most)
Your images are never sent to a server.
Every image you open in MamePress is processed inside your own browser, using WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored on our side, and there is no queue on a server somewhere holding your file. Closing the tab is all the cleanup there is.
That is a property of how the tool is built rather than a promise about how we behave: there is no upload endpoint to misuse. It means you can compress confidential material — identity documents, contracts, medical images — without it leaving your machine.
2. What we collect
We use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used and where it needs improving. It records things like which pages were opened, which site or search referred you, your browser and operating system, and an approximate region. This is collected in a form that does not identify you personally, and it never includes anything about the images you process.
3. Cookies and data kept on your device
Google Analytics sets cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may then behave differently.
The Service also registers a service worker, which stores the page and the WebAssembly modules in your browser's cache. That is what makes the tool start quickly on a second visit and keep working without a connection. Where a tool remembers a setting — for example the quality selector in the background-removal tool on our Japanese site — the setting is written to your browser's local storage and stays there. None of this is sent anywhere, and clearing your browsing data removes all of it.
4. Disclaimer
We accept no liability for damage arising from use of the Service, including damage to data. Image processing depends on your browser's own capabilities, so we cannot guarantee identical behaviour in every environment.
5. Changes to this policy
Except where the law or this policy provides otherwise, this policy may be changed without individual notice.
